Hello,

You mentioned that you were using Event Espresso 3. Stripe is part of the core plugin.

Go to Event Espresso –> Payment Options. This page shows all available payment options. Look for Stripe and enable it. Then the settings area will expand and you can add your Stripe credentials there an save changes.

Since you are accepting onsite card payments, we recommend using an SSL certificate to secure the payment process. If you do not currently have one, then your web host can provide you with some options.

MailChimp can be setup by following these steps:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/mailchimp-integration/#ee3setup

It does not have an option to add via a custom question option.

You can create custom questions including a checkbox question and then assign those to different question groups: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-registration-forms/

These question groups can then be enabled on a per-event basis.

By default, Event Espresso 3 will ask for a first name, last name, and email.

That sounds like you are using EE4.

Can you go to Dashboard -> Plugins.

Search for Event Espresso and see which version number is shown next that – http://take.ms/00H8e

Or look at the bottom of the Dashboard, like this – http://take.ms/aTaVT

Hello there,
Yes indeed. it is EE4. very strange. there may have been an automatic update? I’m sure it was before Christmas ee3.

Whatever.

What should I do so I can use Stripe?
Rollback to EE3? how do I do that? I would like of course not all the settings again to make.

Thanks for the help!

Hello,

Stripe is also available for Event Espresso 4.

First, please backup (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/) your site and update to a current version of Event Espresso 4. You can see the change log here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Then follow these steps to get Stripe setup:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/stripe-payment-gateway/#installation

Once that is running, then you’ll want to setup MailChimp for Event Espresso 4:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/mailchimp-integration/#ee4installation

If you have already updated all of your software to Event Espresso 4 and removed the old Event Espresso 3 software, then please do let us know so we are aware.

Thanks

I have created a group of questions. What do I need tuhen so it displays in the checkout.

Within the event editor you can select which question groups are requested on checkout – http://take.ms/1CBvc

If you added your custom questions to a a custom group the group will show on that section, just click the checkbox next to it and update the event.

Mailchimp: I have the API key successfully inserted. what should I do so that is displayed in the checkout?

The MailChimp add-on does not chow anythign within the checkout, if a user registers onto the event they will be added to your MailChimp list.

Hello, I used Google translate to read your reply.

The MailChimp add-on does not add attendees/registrants based on a checkbox.

It defaults to adding with double opt-in after they receive a status of registration approved.

If an event is free, then registration approved happens after the registrant/attendee submits their registration details.

If an event is paid, then registration approved happens after the attendee/registrant submits their registration details and completes their payment.
