Add custom field in email invoice… (2)

For EE3, how can I use a custom field in an email? Where do you I find the database field name? For example, the default invoice email says’ Dear [fname] [lname]’, but it should be ‘Dear [Parent First Name] [Parent Last Name]’ – are those the correct field names?

Hi Melanie,

Firstly I am assuming that the [Parent First Name] etc are custom questions and not simply a default question renamed?

If so, then you can use the following email tags:

[question_Form question]
[answer_Form question]

So, to use you would add [question_Parent First Name] to display the actual question and [answer_Parent First Name] to display the answer to that question.

If you have renamed a core question then using fname and lname should still work.
