Abandoned Transaction users imported by Mailchimp Addon

Hi,

Today we noticed that the abandoned registrations are being sent to our mailchimp lists.

This can be a source of problems because they will be targeted in our campaigns and some can, rightfully, complain.

I have noticed that another user raised this issue here:

It would be very helpful to have an option to prevent this from happening!
If nothing can be made concerning this we will have to rethink if we are going to use this addon to integrate with mailchimp…

Hi Goncalo, the behavior is still the same. I’ve added additional feedback so we can discuss creating more options on when a registrant is added (e.g. add during registration checkout or add after a registration is approved).

Thank you for your reply.

This issue is a matter of concern for us because we don’t want to send messages to someone that didn’t complete the checkout process.

Upon checkout we give the user relevant information and, if they abandoned, they will not read it! In our next mailchimp campaign they will receive an email…

We would like to have an expectation about the solution for this.

Hi Goncalo,

The next version of the MailChimp Add-on will allow you to select when a registrants information is sent to MailChimp.

This will be either:

1. As soon as the information is available.
2. As soon as checkout has been complete (ignoring payment status, so if you use invoice they user will still be added)
3. Finally, when the registration is approved. (Payment is applied)

Will that work?

I believe that the third option will solve our main problem but the other ones will also be useful in different scenarios.

The latest version of MailChimp for Event Espresso 4 includes various options for controlling when the registrant/attendee information is sent out:
