Hi,

I have just upgraded to EE4 and found that 2CO is not listed as a payment gateway in EE4.
Because we are SA based there are many limits on other payment gateways and 2CO was the only one that could deliver on our requirements for accepting payments on various services. That means I can only use 2CO.
Is there a way/hack or a plugin in the pipeline in the next month for us to still use 2CO. It is quite critical that I get the ticket sales up because the client has a huge event coming up end of January that needs to be advertised now already.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Would Paygate or PaymentExpress work?

2Checkout is currently not in the pipeline. Our upcoming payments gateways are Cybersource and MiGS (Australia).

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks for your reply. My client is currently selling other services through 2CO. I had a look and Paygate is a South African payment gateway. It might very well work for us. I am going to download the application forms and send them through to my client with a motivation. They might consider it but I have to inform them of all the factors and costs involved.

By that I mean I do not like the idea of a middleman to get to PayGate. It only increases costs which results in a bigger part of a ticket sold being taken by a third party. In SA we have Computicket as one of the major ticket sellers for events/movies/concerts. With my motivation I assured the client the chunk they pay to a payment gateway through your system will be significantly less than what Computicket takes. It might sorta negate the necessity of selling your own tickets to turn a profit. Are you guys considering in future to have a direct link with PayGate? If not I will either have to can the whole EE system or go back to EE3.
If I can EE I can still sell tickets through any payment gateway but only using a simple and free shopping cart system.

And sorry, I am not trying to put you guys on the spot here. I am obligated to deliver the client with the best possible solution that will turn the biggest profit.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Paul,

An integration with Paygate is not planned at this time.

PayFast has a payment gateway for Event Espresso 4 here:

https://www.payfast.co.za/shopping-carts/event-espresso/

However, it was written to be added to the plugin folder directly.

This will cause issues during updates as the Event Espresso plugin folder is removed and replaced during a software update. We’ve asked members that are using PayFast to reach out to PayFast support about switching this integration to be a WordPress plugin.

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks for your reply.
Man I can so live with that for now!
But I will prompt then to consider doing it the proper way. My problem is that at this stage we do not make that much money to carry any weight in any request. Hopefully, together with your fantastic system I can turn the tide for my client.
Thanks so much for the help.
