I have a registrant who is paying after our event has ended. I registered him manually, and the payment link in his email and in a payment reminder email sent him to the site where the above appeared in an error message that pops up. Will it be possible for him to reimburse us through our payment gateway? Thanks very much.

Hi there,

What is the current status of this registration? Approved, Pending Payment or another?

Can you add the link to a reply here so I can take a look? (You can mark you reply private and I will remove it shortly afterwards)

I assume the event is currently expired?

I can create a dummy future event, as well…

At one time it was Pending Payment, but now it appears to be gone!

If the registration is not longer within Event Espresso then that will be why you are getting the above error.

With no registration for EE to access it doesn’t matter how you event is set up as EE will try to pull the registration itself to link all of the data together, if it can’t find one you’ll see the above error.

I thought I needed to move the sell-until date forward to make this work, but I can see from HERE that I did not need to do that, and I am guessing that moving it back to the original end date may have wiped out that registration.

You can add registrations within the admin to past events and changing the dates within EE will not wipe registrations.

It is possible however that if you if you the browsers back button to reopen the session after you’ve added the registration it may have caused issues with the line items generated within Event Espresso, which then could cause the registration to be removed during the ‘garbage collection’ routine.

I then tried only registering manually, without changing the sale-end date, but a new error occurs at the make a payment link:

Is the registration still within Event Espresso itself?

As in if you go to EVent Espresso -> Registrations, can you find the registration that link is related to?

The event is currently expired. Should I change the sale-end date and leave it there until it is paid?

I would try that and see if it makes a difference here.

As you don’t need new registrations on the event you could also set the ‘Display Ticket Selector’ option within the event to No when you do this. That will stop Event Espresso displaying a ticket selector and prevent new registrations.
