Hello Yesterday I have installed the latest version of Event Espresso to our Website phototours4u.com.

When I chosse a Ticket and click to choose the Amount of Tickets and start the Event Registration Process I am confronted with an Error which states:

You must select at least one ticket in order to register
We use the German language but the German Error translates to the above Errorstring.

We Use Version 4.10.32.p
Our WordPress Version is WordPress 5.7.5

Hi there,

It looks like you are using a custom ticket selector template.

Within your theme’s root directory do you have any custom templates for Event Espresso?

Hello Tony,

I am not aware that we use a custom template, where can I check this?
Also we didnt change anything on our site other than updating to the newest version of EE

Generally, the template will be within the root directory of your site’s theme, which you would need FTP access to view.

Did a developer work on the site previously to change any of the output for you?

Also we didnt change anything on our site other than updating to the newest version of EE

The way tickets are processed via the ticket selector changed a little while ago, if your custom template hasn’t been updated to match that (and it looks like it hasn’t been) then you get the above error on the latest versions.

We use a WordPress Template. Since 2014 the same one.
We did´nt hat changes made in this template since then.

So I understand that Event Espresso processes the Ticket Selector differently.
What do we need to do in order to make it work again.

Thank you

That’s not the same template in this case.

Do you have FTP access to the site?

Or some kind of file manager through your host and are you comfortable enough using it without editing files?

OK Tony,

just to make sure:
We use indeed a third Party Template in WordPress. Meaning that it is not one of the provided standard WP Template that come with the Installation Pack.

This third Party Template is in use since 2014 when we started to use Event Espresso.
And Yes we have Access on the Filsystem via FTP
I am also comfortable enough to use it and also I am able to change files und resources on the Site.
Be it Files, or folders or CSS Sheets and so on.

Where do I have to change what exactly in order to get everything up and running again?
Thank you

In {root}/wp-content/themes/{theme-name}/

Do you see any template files with ticket_selector in the name?

Hello Tony,

i found this:
ticket_selector_chart.template.php

/www/wp-content/themes/dorayaki/ticket_selector_chart.template.php

What shall I edit in it?

It depends on what has been changed in that file, can you add the contents of that file to something like Pastebin and post it here so I can take a look?

We havent change the php file since 2014.

I know, that’s the problem 🙂 when custom templates are in use like this they need to keep up with the latest changes within core.

Try this version: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/d64b36acf9cb38de81a053c929ea0351
