I upgraded to the latest Event Espresso release (5.0.9.p) a few days ago, and also updated WordPress to the latest version (6.3). I, as the WP and Event Espresso Admin, am able to use Event Espresso without any problems, but two people with Event Espresso Event Admin roles have had issues. They are able to create a new event, but then when they save it as a draft, navigate away from the edit window and then try to edit the event, it gives them an error message: You do not have access to this route. I have gone to Event Espresso Maintenance and clicked on “Reset Event Espresso Capabilities”, but they still have the same problem. Thanks for suggestions! |

Can you double check that you and those people have the same role (and corresponding capabilities)? |

I *think* I discovered the problem – one of the Event Espresso plugins that integrates the WP users was not activated for some reason after the upgrade, so I’ve activated it and am waiting for a user to test it now. I’ll close this since I’m pretty sure that will resolve the problem. |
|
Apparently that wasn’t the problem. I am the Admin and the others are Event Admins. They’re still getting the same error message, but we’ve turned off all the plugins except Event Espresso now and will see what happens. |

With all plug-ins deactivated except for the Event Espresso ones:
the error message is still the same. This has been working for months and years until this last update to EE and WP. |

I have a corrected sequence of events for this issue with additional details – it was not reported to me correctly. So now I have set up a new WP user and assigned this user the role of Event Admin. I tested creating and saving an event to Draft as this new user. I am able to click on “Add New Event” and set up the event, but when I then click on “Save as Draft” or “Publish”, it gives the error message: “You do not have access to this route.” However, it does create the event, but then I cannot access the event to Edit it. Clicking on Edit also gives the error message: “You do not have access to this route.” |

Hi there, We’ve been investigating this and have found the cause which will be included in the next version of Event Espresso. The latest version is currently under testing and if no issues found will be pushed live. However, in the meantime I can send you a copy to try if you’d like? |
|
If the fix will be released in less than 24 hours, I can wait. Otherwise, I’d be happy to try a copy. Thanks!!! |

Found an issue in relation to the people add-on so we are making some additional changes. We also don’t push updates right before the weekend as support isn’t available if any issues come up. If you don’t use the people add-on and your are comfortable with FTP then download this file: https://eventespresso.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/EE_Admin_Page.core_.zip Extract the .PHP file and replace the version in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/admin/ with the one from that zip. That should give your admins access again but the People add-on will thrown an access error when updating a person, we’ll need to push an update to fix that separately. |
