Hello Folks, how is the status of giving the total Price in Event editing? See this thread: https://eventespresso.com/topic/wrong-calculated-prices/ Cheers |
Hi there, It’s currently in planning. However, the developers updated the accounting.js library and added a fix to make sure to run toFixed on running total before formatting the ticket price in the editor to help with the rounding errors you reported in the other thread. This was added in Event Espresso 4.8.18.p. |

You but would it be better to be able to insert more digets? That would solve my Problem and was possible in one of the old versions of ee. |
No it wasn’t possible in one of the older versions of Event Espresso. |
|
|
Anyway i have tested the new version and sorry you made it even worse. In the previous version the prices and the tax would be calculated correctly. This is not the case anymore. Here are my tries to get the endprice of 3.200,00 Euro: http://prntscr.com/9paj0v Since i reported this error at July 30, 2015 i am really upset right now that you made it even worse. So get this error not only on multiple prices but on high priced items too. If you not come along with a quick fix (and just putting in some more damn digits would be it) i see myself in a Situation where i have to change the System. |
Hi there, I’m sorry you feel that the update made things worse, it was not the intent. The intent was to make things better, and the rounding errors that were made in the earlier versions have been eliminated. I’m not sure how that would have made things worse than before compared to your earlier report. Your screenshots show that Event Espresso is indeed limited to pricing at 2 digits, and they round according to general accounting standards. If you want to go with something that allows more decimal places, I can recommend checking out WooCommerce as I’ve heard it has that. |

So are you going to fix this? |
I get that you see this as something that needs to be fixed. I’m afraid it’s a bit more complicated though. It turns out that it’s not something that exactly falls into the category of “fix this”. From what I understand when I check with the dev team, it’s more of a add a new feature or redo everything kind of thing. So as it stands now, there’s an open ticket to add a feature to add support for whole dollar final prices where you instead input a tax amount, and the desired final price of the ticket, and EE will take it from there. |

I see that there are some things that need to be done. But well … i dont need this feature like this, that (if i am right) will need some time to be developed. All in need is to be able to insert more digits. Thats it. Would that be much work? |
When I asked the developers about adding more decimal places for the ticket price inputs the reply I got was it will involve making changes to the database because of the way the fields currently max out with. |
|
|
Yes i have seen that you got a Decimal(10,3) there. Its no Problem to me to change that. |
|
I have changed the Database so that i can insert more diggets. But somewhere in the code from the database to the frontend this diggets get cut off. At least it would be ok to me to insert the price directly into the Database if you you do not want to support it in the event administration form. I would change this on my own to if would know where to put the code. |
Hi there, |
