We know that PayPal IPNs are blocked when WP-Spamshield is activated with Event Espresso. I have contacted the WP-Spamshield developers and this is what the said,
We actually sent the Event Espresso developers the code to fix that issue about 6 months ago. 🙂
The Event Espresso developers had contacted us and we responded back within an hour of them writing us, and provided them with the code they need to fix the compatibility using WP-SpamShield’s hooks (code that other plugins can “hook” into). For best security it should be fixed on their end. It’s only about 4 lines of code and quite easy to implement. Unfortunately I guess it hasn’t been implemented.
Just wondering if you have any plans for implementing the 4-line code fix?
I’m afraid that the fix that they mentioned wasn’t 4 lines and we were unable to make their fix work. Instead, you can follow step 13 in the WP-Spamshield documentation:
Are you having trouble with an API call, webhook, or payment gateway getting blocked? We have made every effort to whitelist all of these on major plugins, but in some rare occasions a problem will arise. Try using the option “Disable anti-spam for miscellaneous forms” and see if that helps.
