We have an event coming up and will have 4 or 5 mobile devices in use for scanning tickets.

I’m in the process of creating dedicated WordPress user accounts for the personnel involved in scanning attendees into the event and setting up app passwords for them and logging them into the app on our various devices.

What are the minimum permissions that a user would need to be able to login via the EE app and perform scanning?

Any thoughts on this?

Hi there,

These are the minimum capabilites I would set:

 ee_edit_checkin
 ee_edit_checkins
 ee_edit_others_checkins
 ee_read_checkin
 ee_read_checkins
 ee_read_contact
 ee_read_contacts
 ee_read_event
 ee_read_events
 ee_read_others_checkins
 ee_read_others_default_tickets
 ee_read_others_events
 ee_read_others_payment_methods
 ee_read_others_registrations
 ee_read_registration
 ee_read_registrations
 ee_read_transaction
 ee_read_transactions
 read

You may get away with removing a couple of those but it depends on what they need to do in the app. Start with the above and check that role can access everything you need to in the app, check a user in and out, scan a ticket, lookup an attendee etc.
