Hi, our website just went down this week, citing a scripting error caused by Event Espresso. Specifically:
It appears you have a error with ap login called event-espresso
Notice: Undefined index: SERVER_NAME in /home/maestros/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 179

Any advice or help appreciated.

Hi Jim,

Can you resend the support token form and include valid cpanel or FTP information? The information you sent is not correct.

Hi Jim,

I got your site back up and running, and the cause of the site going down had nothing to do with Event Espresso. The problem was actually caused by the following code that was added to your site’s wp-config.php file:

require_once(ABSPATH.'wp-content/plugins/easy-captcha/easy-captcha.php');

require_once(ABSPATH.'wp-content/plugins/estore/estore.php');

require_once(ABSPATH.'wp-content/plugins/estore2/estore2.php');

Your site doesn’t actually have those plugin files, and that’s not the correct way to add plugin files anyway. If you’re aware of someone doing work on the site that involved adding those plugins they need to know what they did was incorrect and resulted in bringing the site down.

If no one was authorized to work on your site this week, then you should contact your hosting provider and ask them to change all the passwords and they can investigate further.

Thanks Josh! That’s strange, I don’t know of anyone that did that! Can you tell the date, login credentials or IP Address of the person that may have changed them? Otherwise I will just change passwords…

Only the date (from the date modified info in the file manager) and it appears that the changes were made late Wednesday evening this week. I do not have any information about the IP address or how they logged in but your hosting provider may be able look into this.
