I have 2 events setup. After someone registers they should be re-directed to our payment page (PayPal Payments Pro) but instead it takes them back to the Event Registration page with the event listings. We have an SSL certificate. I found out that when I disabled the “Enable HTTPS” from our WordPress HTTPS plugin option on the page it works fine. Can you tell me why it won’t work when this setting is enabled?

Hi Dan,

Have you secured all of the Event Espresso core pages?

If you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Registration pages.

The pages selected as the Main Registration page, Transactions page and Thank you page – http://take.ms/1OMdU

Should all be set to be secured. Can you check if that’s the case please?

Yes, I have confirmed that all of those pages are secured.

Hi Dan,

Can you check the WordPress HTTPS plugin’s settings and verify that the Force SSL in Admin option is checked? If it isn’t, you can enable that option and check the redirect.

If the Force SSL in Admin option is enabled, can you set up a temporary test event and post a link here so we an investigate?

Force SSL in Admin is not checked. I didn’t want SSL for admin access and didn’t enable it since it shouldn’t impact a visitor who is making a purchase. Users don’t have to create accounts to purchase a ticket. Are you saying that this has to be enabled? I have an event already setup at http://thehive44.com/contact-us/.

Thanks.

Hi, could you turn that on and let us know if the issue continues?

Dan,

The link you posted doesn’t have an event registration form on it. Can you check to see if you posted the right link?

Along with that, it’s always recommended to secure the WordPress admin if you have an SSL cert for the site. Your WordPress admin will be more secure, and wp-admin-ajax.php will securely load on the front end (it does make a difference in some browsers on the front end because some browsers will not load mixed https and http content on an https page).

Lorenzo, I enabled Admin ssl and I still have the problem…

Josh, Sorry, wrong link (wrong client for that matter…) Try this link: http://visit.hill2000.org/event-registration/?ee=3

Thanks

Hi Dan,

Here are a few of the errors in the console:

You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.

(likely not related, but I can advise looking into this)

Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://visit.hill2000.org/event-registration/?ee=3’ was loaded over a secure connection, but contains a form which targets an insecure endpoint ‘http://visit.hill2000.org/event-registration/’. This endpoint should be made available over a secure connection.

This one is more than likely related to the redirect failing. I think the reason that the WordPress https is failing may be because the WooCommerce plugin is installed. WooCommerce has its own Force SLL setting and cannot be used if the WordPress https plugin is installed. The WooCommerce SSL documentation says to go to the WooCommerce settings page and turning off its Force SSL setting.

So the first thing to check is if the Force SSL setting is activate. If it’s active, you can deactivate it. Once the WooCommerce Force SSL setting is deactivated, you can add the WooCommerce pages in to the WordPress https plugin’s Force SSL these pages list.
