Will upgrading wipe out custom code?

When I first installed Event Espresso, the support team installed some custom code to change the way something displayed (the events page was changed by Lorenzo not to say “Archives”). I am concerned that upgrading the plug-in could wipe this out. Can you please confirm that it would be safe to upgrade? Thank you.

Hi Scott,

The “Archives” text was added by your WordPress theme, so any custom code that was added would not have been added to the Event Espresso plugin itself. So when you update Event Espresso 4, it will not wipe out the custom code.

Hello Scott,

I looked at the prior support regarding this and a site specific plugin was created so it should continue to work.

If you change your theme (WP-admin (WordPress dashboard) –> Appearance –> Themes) in the future, then it would no longer apply.

You can find your support license key here: https://eventespresso.com/users/scottkmaxwell#account-settings

Copy and paste it into Event Espresso –> General settings and then save changes. You can then update your software for Event Espresso.
