I organise sporting events and I am looking into changing the way we take entries & payments. Currently I use multiple plug-ins, including woocommerce, gravity forms, mailchimp add on and paypal add on.

So can Event Espresso do everything I need, including:

– Take entries on customisable forms as different events need different data.
– Publish a list of attendees/entered riders automatically
– Take payments via paypal. Also via Barclays ePDQ (I realise another plugin is required here)
– Have add-on/multi level products, ie standard “entry” or “VIP entry”
– Automatically add attendees to mailchimp mailing list

Thanks in advance.

Also, to export all event attendee details via CSV or similar.

Also…
Have coupons to allow discounts
and manually add people to the events, for those who pay via non-online methods.

Hi Matt,

Event Espresso 3 (EE3 business support license) would be a good fit for your project:

– Take entries on customisable forms as different events need different data. This is possible through Event Espresso 3 as it allows you to create customized registration forms. You can also collect different information for different events.

– Publish a list of attendees/entered riders automatically
A shortcode is available that will display this information. It can be added to the event description: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#attendee-list

– Take payments via paypal. Also via Barclays ePDQ (I realise another plugin is required here). PayPal is supported. Barclays is not.

– Have add-on/multi level products, ie standard “entry” or “VIP entry”.
Yes, you can have multiple pricing options per event including a free option.

– Automatically add attendees to mailchimp mailing list
The MailChimp add-on for Event Espresso 3 will be needed to accomplish this.

– Also, to export all event attendee details via CSV or similar.
Yes, you can view a list of attendees and export their information into an Excel file. This can then be opened in another program like Numbers, Excel, or Google Spreadsheets.

– Have coupons to allow discounts
Yes, a promotions system is available. You can view the type of discounts here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/promotional-codes/

– Manually add people to the events, for those who pay via non-online methods. This can be done through the WordPress dashboard.

Are there any other requirements for your project?

Thanks for quick reply.
Regarding Barclays ePDQ, there is a 3rd party plugin available: here.

I assume I can change some of the formatting? Change the word “ticket” to “entry” or similar?

Currently I have many different websites, so I may have them redirect to a single “entry” website for all different events. I think this will mean that the Business support will be sufficient.

How do the add-ons/extra tickets work with the export format? Will it be a separate field?
For example, some events you have basic entry, for example £30. But then you can buy accommodation packages, which are extra £50.

Can I export those just with accommodation for example?

Also, when using the event attendees shortcode, can it display more than just the name?
ie. Name, ticket type (event category) & rider team?

Can “Invoice Payment Reminders” be setup to take deposits, then automatically email those who have paid on a set date for further payment?

Hi,

We would not be able to provide support for that payment gateway.

The export option will export all attendees for that event. You could then sort the columns in Numbers or Excel or another program to view registrations for a specific pricing option.

Extending the attendee listing shortcode would take custom coding.

Partial payments are not supported at this time. They can be done but they are not automated so you would need manually handle the additional payment via an additional event or a PayPal payment request.
