We’re trying to turn around an event registration project quickly and without a lot of development time or resources. The project is more or less a proof-of-concept for the client and if all goes well it will grow into something much larger. Hoping that for now EE will work out of the box for us, except of course for some front-end theming.

The project is for a network of car dealers who would like to have people register for free demo days at various locations around the United States.

Here’s an outline of our needs:
– Visitors should be able to enter their ZIP code and find nearby upcoming events
– A super-administrator will set up individual dealerships/venues
– Each dealership needs to have their own set of admin users that can create / edit / manage ONLY their events
– Events need to be capacity-limited
– Visitors should not have to create an account in order to sign up for an event
– Confirmation e-mail should be sent to registrants upon signup
– Reminder e-mails should be sent to registrants starting a few days before the event
– Registrant information should be accessible to admin users for a particular dealer and exportable to CSV or similar format.
– After the event, dealer admins need to be able to upload photos of the event

Fingers crossed that some flavor of EE and its add-ons will do the trick!

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert,

Thank you for contacting us! We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso.

– Visitors should be able to enter their ZIP code and find nearby upcoming events
This functionality is not available in Event Espresso at this time.

– A super-administrator will set up individual dealerships/venues
This will require the Roles and Permissions Pro add-on which is included in the Event Espresso (EE3) Developer license package, or can be purchased separately with the Event Espresso 3 (EE3) Personal or Event Espresso (EE3) Business license packages.

– Each dealership needs to have their own set of admin users that can create / edit / manage ONLY their events
This too is possible with the Roles and Permissions Pro add-ons for EE3.

– Events need to be capacity-limited
This is possible with any version of EE.

– Visitors should not have to create an account in order to sign up for an event
This is possible with any version of EE.

– Confirmation e-mail should be sent to registrants upon signup
This is default functionality of EE.

– Reminder e-mails should be sent to registrants starting a few days before the event
Reminder emails are not a function in Event Espresso core. However, with MailChimp and the MailChimp add-on for EE, you can add attendees’ email address to a list, then set up an automated email from MailChimp. MailChimp is included in the EE3 Business and Developer license packages, or can be purchased separately with the EE3 Personal license package. It is also available for EE4 with a separate purchase.

– Registrant information should be accessible to admin users for a particular dealer and exportable to CSV or similar format.
Exporting data to CSV is included in the core. Allowing users to only export data for the events they have access to is possible with the Roles and Permissions Pro add-on.

– After the event, dealer admins need to be able to upload photos of the event.
This is possible by allowing the dealer to access the event page to post pictures. Or you can allow them to create a blog post or page for the pictures.

?I am happy to answer anymore questions you might have.
