Hello,

I’ve migrated an EE4 installation from development to an live server. After hitting the registration button ( Nu aanmelden) on e.g. this page, i got a blank screen.

I have done the following steps:

  • Turned on WP_Debug : no results
  • Increased Memory to 128mb : no results
  • search and replace db during migration with interconnect/it script search and replace tool, and even searched the db for old web address instances: not found
  • tried to create an new event in the new online situation: same problem
  • disabled https : no results

Are there other options which can be a issue? It’s good to know that the complete installation does work at the development server..

Production:
WordPress Versie:
4.1
PHP Versie:
5.3.27
MySQL Versie:
5.5.31
Event Espresso Version:
4.6.14.p

Development
WordPress Versie:
4.1
PHP Versie:
5.3.21
MySQL Versie:
5.1.49
Event Espresso Version:
4.6.14.p

Hi Remco,

How exactly did you migrate the installation?

A whitescreen generally indicates a fatal error is being thrown.

Can you go to Dahsboard -> Settings -> Permalinks.

Make no changes and just save the settings.

Now re-test. Same problem?

When you enabled WP_DEBUG did you notice ANY notices, errors or otherwise within the site? (I’m wondering if error reporting has been completely disabled on the production server, which is overriding WP_DEBUG)

Hi Tony,

I’ve used FTP to transfer all files to the new server and after that i’ve transferred the MySQL tables with Navicat. After the transfer i’ve used the interconnect/it script search and replace tool.

I’ve also saved the permalink structure again, but no results. As you can see on the mentoined page WP_DEBUG is still enabled, it’s gives some output on the event page.

Apologies, I completely missed that output.

Can you temporarily switch to one of the default themes such as twenty fourteen and retest this please?

You can do this without actually switching the theme using Theme Test Drive if you prefer.

I’ve switched in to twenty-fifthteen and retested it. Same result. Because the customer is already filling in some texts i’ve actived their own theme back.

Have you modified core at all?

It works as expected on the development server correct?

Can you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Critical pages.

Do all of the pages show ‘Page Status OK’ and ‘Shortcode OK’?

hmmzz, all pages mentoined ‘Page Status OK’ and ‘Shortcode OK’ but as you suggested with the permalinks i’ve just hit the update settings button to re-save those values. And magically it seems to resolving the problem for now.

I’ve experienced more of this situation, the general settings tab ‘organisation’ & other tabs had to be set again after migration. Is that correct as far as you know?

Sounds like the migration was not done correctly.

With the interconnect script did you select all tables?

The interconnect selects by default all tables. In which table(s) are those options saved? I can have a look why a search & replace doesn’t work out.

Hi Remco,

All of the options are saved to the _options table.
