I have a requirement to support multiple price types (eg Standard and VIP) with individual number limits and Printable Tickets. From looking at the Test Drives this does not seem to be possible in either EE3 or EE4. The suggestion of multiple events to achieve the first requirement is not acceptable.
Multiple Price Types is available within EE3 using the Multi Event Registration Add-on. You can set multiple tickets within a single event, and then use that Add-on to add that Single Event to the Cart and then select multiple ticket types from that event. You do not need to create individual events per ticket, although it depends on how you intend to use the feature.
EE3 has the Ticketing Add-on which will allow you to create printable tickets.
EE4 handles Multiple Ticket Types more elegantly in that multiple ticket types can be included within an event using Core. There is no need for a ‘cart’ system you can just select different ticket types and place your registration.
However EE4 currently does not support the Ticketing Add-on.
If the ticketing function is required I would recommend using EE3 until EE4 suits your needs, at which point you can migrate your events over to EE4.
Just let me know if you have any further questions.
