Hi! Sorry for posting a silly question, but I can’t seem to resolve this on my own..

I have downloaded the translation files (nb_NO) from GlotPress. I have checked after downloading that the files actually contain the phrases I use to test if it works.

I name the files event_espresso-nb_NO.mo and event_espresso-nb_NO.po.

I have tried placing the translation files (both .po and .mo) in these places, but without any of them working:
wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages
wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/languages
wp-content/languages/plugins/
wp-content/languages/

I would expect at least one of them to work, but none of them do.

I’m using WP 4.0, and EE 4.3.2p.

Thank you!

Hi,

They should be added here:

/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages

Have you added the language macro to your wp-config.php to switch WordPress from English to your native language?

Not sure why, but it’s working now. I downloaded new files from GlotPress and reuploaded, and now they’re working when placed in the folder you specified. I already had the language specified in wp-config.php.

Thanks for your help anyways, though 🙂

Hi,

Did you by chance download the EE3 files before?

Also, be sure to remove the files from the other locations so you aren’t confused at a later time.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Hello again,

We have a new resource that explains how to translate Event Espresso. You can view it here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-translate-event-espresso/

Also, GlotPress now has translation strings that are up to date for the current Event Espresso 4.8.x platform.
