I need to customize some files of Events Vector Maps (index.php). Where should I copy the files to override the originals? (child theme folder? /uploads/espresso ???)
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Joseph,
Currently you can not load custom files within the Vector Maps template, you would need to create a custom version.
Can I ask what sections are you looking to change?

On completed/past events, I would like to activate that “Closed.png” to a clickable link to the project page.

That’s not possible with the current version of the vector maps add-on, however we do have a development version that separates the the html output into a template.php file and checks for a custom version of that template when loading.
This means you can then copy the template.php file to either a /espresso-template-vector-maps/ or just simply /vector-maps/ within a child theme and make modifications there.
