This is getting out of hand. I have been waiting for this ability to get added for so long and have been told that it’s just a few months, weeks away and there are no signs of it ever coming. Being able to add discount codes is ESSENTIAL for almost any event. That’s how an event gets promoted, I can’t believe such an essential part of the plugin doesn’t come with it in the first place, and then keeps getting pushed back for SO LONG !!! I have read COUNTLESS threads about people asking for the same thing with the same frustration, getting the same response; “it’s coming soon”, “weeks away” “months away” and many more You guys have a great support, and always respond to question, have a great developer team that is pushing updates all the time. But this one ting is frustrating and I can’t make the websites I have made go live and now have too look for another solution, that’s thousands of dollars and months of work down the drain. This is not fair to people who pay the price of theme for a plugin. |
Hi, this has been one of the more challenging add-ons as it interacts with several areas of Event Espresso 4. We are making progress on the add-on each week (almost daily now) and are also making changes in the core plugin to support the promotions system: http://cl.ly/image/230b3i3b1c0c We want to be careful to not break anything as we introduce necessary changes to support the new add-on. One of our cofounders posted an update here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/how-i-create-promosional-coupon-code-in-the-system/#post-149469 — |

Hi Lorenzo, Thank you for the response. But I have seen you post this screen shot multiple times and as much as I appreciate this, it just doesn’t change anything. I have been searching for updates on this feature everyday for months now. For a while you guys said a few weeks, then it turned into months, then back into week and then said it’s not gonna happen in Q1 of 2015 and now your founder says Q2 of 2015 !!!! In the link you posted the cofounder says Q2 of 2015 but here he promised Q1 On March 25th you said a few weeks then a few week later On Apri; 7th your cofounder said it will take 60-90 days I would not be surprised if you change your timeline again. If you can’;t commit to a deadline then don’t give deadline ! People rely on your word. You can see why I’m just so disappointed and not able to trust ANY of the time lines or screen shots you post, simply because you have gone back on your word for the past 6 months or so numerous times. I understand it’s a big project and I don’t doubt that you guys are hard at work on this and have a ton of other stuff to work on. But if you can’t give a good estimate then don’t. I relied on what you guys said and have lost thousands of $$s and a LOT of time because of it. Now I have to start from scratch because you changed the “deadline” numerous times. If you look at the forums this is probably one of the most requested featured, and arguably the only essential feature that is missing. |
Hi aceology, Thank you for your feedback. Our estimates are just that, estimates, based on the information we have at the time. Some users prefer to have some estimate than non estimate at all. Sorry for the frustration. |

For next times you can say it will be ready in the future since saying that would have been more accurate than any of your estimates. |
Hi, thanks again for the additional feedback. This has been delayed as we are needing to make some changes to the core plugin to support the promotions add-on which is being developed. One major change that is occurring right now is a refactor to the date times feature in Event Espresso and that is running alongside the promotions system. We can’t release one without the other and we want to get it right the first time. I can understand that you may not want to trust those screenshots but they are real like the other screenshots that I share when replying to member questions and were captured the day that I replied. Unfortunately, I don’t have a set launch date for you but hopefully this helps you understand why this specific add-on has been delayed. — |

Hi Ace, You can access the promotions add-on and its corresponding feature branch on github by signing up for github access. This way you’ll have an up to the minute look at the progress being made on the work being done to add promocode functionality to EE4. As an aside, I’m really interested in what you said about “This is not fair to people who pay the price of theme for a plugin.” If you have a moment, can you elaborate what you mean? |

Starting today, current support license holders can opt in to the pre-release channel and download the Event Espresso 4.7 and Promotion add-on pre-releases. We’d love to get your feedback on some of the new promotion features and changes that we’ve been working on. These include:
Important: The Event Espresso 4 promotions add-on will activate only if Event Espresso 4.7 is active. This means you’ll need to install the Event Espresso 4.7 pre-release before installing the promotions add-on.
If you haven’t already opted into Event Espresso’s pre-release channel, you can go to your account page and check the box to opt in to the pre-release channel. Once you opt in, the download files will be available under the EE4 tab under the Pre Release Downloads heading. You can find out more information about in the pre-release channel guide. If you have feedback about Promotions or the 4.7 release, please reply to that Promotions announcement or start another new topic. |
