I searched and searched the forums, the documentation, google, and the admin area. No luck. OK, you win. Come out come out wherever you are, Promotion Code Manager. |
Hi Isaac, Promotion codes are currently available for Event Espresso 3. It is being developed for Event Espresso 4 but we don’t have an estimate on when it will be available. — |

OK, You really kind of screwed me over on this. EE4 should come with a giant warning label saying what’s missing if it’s not a complete product – or don’t launch it until it’s actually ready. Now I have a client that has already entered several events in the EE4 version and absolutely needs to promo codes to work. I guess we can install the EE3 version for her instead. Will she have to re-enter all her events? Also, I purchased the EE4 calendar add-on. How do I get the EE3 calendar add-on. |
Event Espresso 3 along with the calendar for EE3 can be downloaded from your Event Espresso account: https://eventespresso.com/users/isaac/#ee3-downloads You can migrate information from EE3 to EE4 but migration does not work in reverse. The events would need to be created again. — |

That’s it? You’re not even going to acknowledge the awkward position your false advertising put me in with my client? The least you could do is tell me you will pass that information along to whoever is in charge of your website so it doesn’t happen to others? Do you not care about your customers, because that’s how it’s feeling. |
Event Espresso 4 is a different platform than Event Espresso 3. That is why I shared the links to EE3 in your account which does have a promotions system available. Is there a specific page that mentions the promotions system is available for Event Espresso 4? — |

Technically, you’re right – the features page has a handy filter for EE4 and EE3 features. For someone evaluating your product who has no clue what EE3 and EE4 are though, let alone why those notes are there, it’s way too subtle. It’s extremely counter-intuitive that your latest version would not have at least as many features as the previous version. When you decide to release software that is not ready for prime time, you should advertise that status prominently. |
Thanks for sharing the additional feedback. There are some features that EE4 offers that EE3 can’t do out of the box such as registering for multiple tickets at once. It just happens that this is the opposite of that as promotion codes are available for EE3 but not for EE4. They will be available in the future (currently under development). — |

Starting today, current support license holders can opt in to the pre-release channel and download the Event Espresso 4.7 and Promotion add-on pre-releases. We’d love to get your feedback on some of the new promotion features and changes that we’ve been working on. These include:
Important: The Event Espresso 4 promotions add-on will activate only if Event Espresso 4.7 is active. This means you’ll need to install the Event Espresso 4.7 pre-release before installing the promotions add-on.
If you haven’t already opted into Event Espresso’s pre-release channel, you can go to your account page and check the box to opt in to the pre-release channel. Once you opt in, the download files will be available under the EE4 tab under the Pre Release Downloads heading. You can find out more information about in the pre-release channel guide. If you have feedback about Promotions or the 4.7 release, please reply to that Promotions announcement or start another new topic. |

Update: The Promotions add-on for Event Espresso 4 is now available. |
