I’ve been searching on the Event page and in the knowledge base, documentation and forums, and can’t find how to duplicate an event.

I find topics in the forum on issues with duplicating an event after hitting the Duplicate Event button, but I must be blind because I can’t find that button. Could someone kindly tell me where it is?

I’m in WP 3.8.1 and the most current version of EE4.

Thanks!

Hi,

Event Espresso 4 does not have a duplicate event feature at this time.

The previous threads you have found regarding the Duplicate button are for Event Espresso 3 which does.

Event Espresso 4 is vastly different from EE3 and is currently in Beta, if you need to Duplicate events and/or use any of the Add-ons you will need to use Event Espresso 3 at this.

That sucks, my developer loaded EE4 thinking it was good to go!

EE3 treats different dates/times for events like different events, but in EE4 different dates/times are just different datetimes so they’re faster to configure and use.

But, if you’re creating completely different events (different descriptions, different images, different datetimes, different ticket options, etc) then it will be a similar amount of effort to create a new event because all that info will need to be changed.

Other thoughts on that?

I should also add that you can configure default tickets to be created with each new event using the Pricing manager. That also make configuring new events faster.

I have very similar events with many identical configurations that my developer created. So it would be easiest to treat the first one created as a template that I can just slightly modify for the next.

Hi Travel,

Would you like to preview the next release of Event Espresso 4 that will include a button for duplicating events? If so, you can download an pre-release copy of Event Espresso 4.3 from your account page after you opt into the pre-release channel. Please let us know what you think about it!
