I can see my events list at my mywebsitename.com/events but I do not know where to go to customize it.
Also, the view details button appears twice. How do I fix this?

Hi Alexia,
The /events/ section is output by your theme, more specifically its an archive of EE events and so uses your themes archive.php template to output the details, EE just hooks into the_content and adds the event details there.
Editing that section can be done but how depends on what it is you want to change, can you provide some more details?
Also, the view details button appears twice. How do I fix this?
This usually happens when the theme is doing something strange, if you preview one of the default themes does the same happen then?
You can do that thought Appearance -> Themes -> {default theme} -> Preview
Or use a plugin such as Theme Test Drive that allows you to swap themes for the admin.
