Hi there, I have been on vacation–and a lot of my clients are telling me that they are having trouble completing the registration. I am trying to go to my website, and it isn’t responding for me. Can you please help me asap to figure out what is wrong? I feel that 1x year I have trouble with event espresso, and then I have a bunch of clients who try to register unsucessfully–then I have to deal with a bunch of emails from my clientele. Your help is much appreciated. = Cara.

Hi Cara,

I’m sorry for the trouble. May I ask what’s not responding for you? I checked an event on the site and the registration form loaded up for me OK:

One thing we do recommend to help avoid issues is keeping the software up to date. It looks like your site’s version of the software is about 30 versions behind. Can you update the site to have the current version of Event Espresso?

HI there, People have told me that they are unable to complete the registration. I tried to go and see for myself but the whole website isn’t responding. I couldn’t get into the backend nor could I visualize the webpage in general. I’m on the phone with Godaddy, and they think that maybe plug=ins need to be updated and something is causing the website to not work properly now. How can I update the software in a way that will keep all of the website/information intact?

When you update the software your website/information/data will remain intact. The data is stored in a separate place (it’s stored alongside your WordPress pages, posts, and settings in the site’s database). Before you can go in and update plugins though, GoDaddy will need to investigate why you can’t get into the WordPress back-end.
