Our website has entered maintenance mode after trying to update plugin to the latest version. The reason we were trying to do this was because we were getting an SCA message.

We are now worried about losing any registration information as part of the updating process for the plugin.

Thanks

Hi there,

Do you mean Event Espresso is in maintenance mode or WordPress is?

Can you post a screenshot? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots

If it’s Event Espresso, first, create a backup of your database. There’s multiple ways to do that, for example using a backup plugin:

https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/search/backup/

Or you can use something like phpMyAdmin through your host.

Then go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance.

Follow the instructions to run the migration script and EE will switch back out of maintenance mode. We run these when there are changes to how the data is stored within the database and we need to update it.

All of your registration data is stored within the database, so it’s the database that is important to keep backed up rather than the plugin files.

May I ask, what SCA message are you getting?
