We updated to EE4 from EE3 a couple of months ago and since updating have been experiencing various website crashes (more in the last 2 months than we had in years with EE3). Not sure if it is an EE4 related issue – we are with Bluehost who have not been able to accurately diagnose / solve this issue.
We have also been getting some strange behaviours from EE4 which have been the subject of a few post here.
Would be grateful for your urgent help – EE4 is a great plugin and we hope to solve this soon.
We’ll need more details on this as I can only see what you can see within the dashboard currently. I checked your error logs and nothing stands out from Event Espresso in those.
When it crashes there is an error message that the site can’t be reached or that there was a failure to establish a database connection. The site also disappears from our hosting panel where it says we have no websites. When it has crashed it usually then comes back within around 20-30 mins.
Ok, so short answer, it sounds like you’re hitting some kind of limit on your host and my guess is database connections, but really they should be able to tell you more about why the site is crashing and it sounds like they haven’t?
Without an error of some kind I’m really limited on what I can do here.
It is shared hosting – I will go back to them again and press for error record details
