We only want to use the plugin on one site but it is on a multisite and cannot use the paid addons at this time and it is starting to cause issues.

Hi there,

Which version do you have installed currently? Event Espresso does not officially support multi-site installs but that doesn’t mean it won’t work with them, you will likely need to manually update EE (and add-ons) on that site but the license shouldn’t prevent EE from functioning as normal.

So may I ask, why you can’t use the paid add-ons?

What issues are you running into?

We currently have version 4.10.32 active.
When we try to add any add-on we get the following message “Your support license key is only valid for one domain at a time, and our licensing system has detected that you are using your license key on multiple domains. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys, or if you have concerns, please Contact Us.” and will not allow us to add anything.

That notice wont prevent you from adding anything to the site, it will prevent ‘one-click’ updates from working but that should be it.

As you’re using a multisite install, are you trying to install the plugin within the main site?

Okay, so I do not manage the main site. the main site is not a public-facing site at all. the website is for a university with many other sites attached. the plugins being used are really only controlled by the super admin. for my access is not limited but a little i have all access like normal to the EE plugin it just says when I try to add a add-on we only have a buy now option. ultemetly we are starting to think the license we have will not work.

Okay, so I do not manage the main site. the main site is not a public-facing site at all. the website is for a university with many other sites attached.

That’s not how it works with WordPress MultiSite.

The plugins need to be installed via the main site, there is only 1 set of files with MultiSite, meaning there is only 1 place to install plugins. Those plugins can then be Network Activated (activated on all sites) or individually activated on single sites… but they must be installed using the main site.

the plugins being used are really only controlled by the super admin.

Event Espresso (and its add-ons) are all individual plugins, they need to be installed just like any other.

for my access is not limited but a little i have all access like normal to the EE plugin it just says when I try to add a add-on we only have a buy now option.

Where are you trying to add the add-ons within EE? We don’t have a section for your to add add-on via the EE interface, they are added as regular plugins.

ultemetly we are starting to think the license we have will not work.

This isn’t an issue with your license, it’s an issue with how plugins work within WordPress MultiSite.

Event Espresso and its add-ons need to be installed through the main site, you can then activate them on your single site within the network, that’s just how it works with WordPress Multisite.

Hello, so we reinstalled the plugin via the main site and activated everything (I am being told) activated the plugin on one site but still getting the buy now buttons only. do you have any other suggestions?

You will always see ‘buy now’ buttons in the ‘Extensions & Services’ section, its just a section to show you the various add-ons, not what is installed on the site.

Which plugins do yu have installed/actived on your current site?

For example, one one of my test sites I have EE and a bunch of add-ons installed:
https://monosnap.com/file/2VG1QeO5igsxGgGsPUi4Lk1rr2PzAS

Note how you can see the Calendar add-on listed there, its installed and activated on the site.

Yet the Extensions & Services section shows a buy now button for it:

https://monosnap.com/file/1U6WMCfTQcR1vhSJEaNhnbDaLqFlpc

That section is not to ‘enabled/disabled’ add-ons, they are separate individual plugins you install and use.

Which add-ons are you trying to use currently?
