So… this is a really weird one. I’ve triple checked the category that the event is assigned to – and it’s assigned to the correct category – but it shows up in another category (it also shows up in the correct category). The shortcode is correct. What might cause this? Have you seen this occur before? https://hoffmanarts.org/hoffman-gallery/ Thoughts? |
Hi there, What shortcode are you using for that event grid? |
This one: [ESPRESSO_GRID_TEMPLATE category_slug=gallery button_text=’More Info’ limit=50] Is my slug too generic or something? |
No, I’m just going through possible causes. So the events assigned to that category slug show here: https://hoffmanarts.org/event-category/gallery/ The potters even aren’t listed, which leads towards some kinds of caching (I know you’ve said its been cleared) Can you make a change to that shortcode so I can confirm it loads on the page? For example, change it to:
Once I’ve checked the page updates we can change it back again. |
Ok – that update has been done… it says Read More, but the darn thing is still showing? |
For me, the page still shows More info: |
I cleared the cache… now try? |
Yeah, that’s updated on the page now. You can change it back now, as it does indeed still show even after an update. Note – me confirming to see it is not because I don’t believe you, I’m simply working through everything to confirm, the headers for the original page show Hmm, odd one that. Can I take a look at the event in the admin? If so send over temp login details using this form: |
I get it totally! |
Thank you. So… a couple of things here. I don’t want to make changes to your site so listing them here. If there is anything your not comfortable with just say so. Can you create a new temp page with just that shortcode on it, please? I’d like to view the query on the page and for that, there multiple plugins available, one I like to use is: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/ However, it will slow down your site for admins when it’s active (it does a lot in the background and gives some useful information for troubleshooting issues like this). I assume you have FTP/File Manager access? The reason I ask is adding a plugin like this ‘can’ take you over the memory usage allocated for the site which then throws a fatal error and may need FTP access to deactivate the plugin again. If you can have FTP access, can you install the above plugin, activate it to confirm it works, then deactivate it so I can use it as an when to view the queries. Or resubmit the form with FTP credentials so that if I install/activate the plugin and it fatal’s I can deactivate it again myself. Everything within the event itself looks fine so I’d like to do a little digging into what is happening here, as mentioned, it’s an odd issue 🙂 |

Hi there! |

Ok – it’s now loaded and deactivated. Here’s the test page: https://hoffmanarts.org/shelly-test/ Thank you Tony! |
