I am getting tons of fake registrations on my waitlist. Is there a way to add captcha somewhere? Or ask the registration questions to determine real attendees vs fake?

Hi there,

Do you have reCaptcha enabled within Event Espresso and set to be on the ticket selector?

You can check if reCaptcha is enabled in Event Espresso -> Registration form -> Reg form settings (tab).

Is ‘Use reCAPTCHA’ set to Yes and do you have a Site and Secret key set?

(If not you’ll need to sign up to reCapchta and generate a v2 reCaptcha key, I can add more details on this if needed)

If you have it enabled already using a v2 key for invisible reCaptcha, make sure in the ‘Invisible reCAPTCHA Protection’ option that ‘Ticket selector’ is checked.

Can you link me to an event I can view?

I don’t have recaptcha set up as you describe, I’ll try setting that up. Hopefully that does the trick!

There’s a link on the page I mentioned to take you to the reCaptcha sign up, just be sure to use a V2 key for invisible reCaptcha.

If you need any help setting it up just let me know.

Be sure to test a registration whist not logged into the site after you set everything up to confirm registrations still work (reCaptcha is only shown when not logged in).
