Hi there – just had a test drive of the demo of EE3 and like the waitlist functionality – I do have a quick question based on the requirements of a site I’ve been asked to build –
Is there a way to drive all registrations directly to a waiting list (the client wants to be able to ballot everyone that subscribes to give all members of the organisation a fair chance to go to an event) I couldn’t find a way of setting the parent event to 0 tickets or to view the waitlist event directly.
Is this possible?
Thanks
John
PS Also – any updates on adding wait list function to EE4 (it’s a much slicker product)
Instead of using a Waitlist feature, you can set the event registrations to require pre-approval (EE3) or set the Default Registration status to Not Approved (EE4). This will allow the event manager to manually approve attendees.
You can automatically add a waitlist to an event in EE4 by installing a contact form plugin, then create a contact form for capturing requests to get on the wait list. The example shown in this gist shows how to add contact form from the Ninja Forms plugin onto a sold out event in EE4:
