When I sign up for wait list, sometimes I get a confirmation and email, sometimes it takes hours for the email to arrive, and sometimes it does not arrive at all. Have checked spam, etc.

To add to this, if I go into the registration and click on the email icon, the delivery of the “you have been added to the wait list” email is immediate

To add to this, if I go into the registration and click on the email icon, the delivery of the “you have been added to the wait list” email is immediate and the original expected email alert also shows up then (ie I get two at this point)

NEW INFO AND CRITICAL TO GET SOLUTION: The pop up indicator AND the email are delayed. I have figured out if I (as a user) go back into the events page form my menu, then I consistently get the pop up AND the email at that point. Currently, a user would not see any indication they were successfully added. Can this be fixed as it is critical? Thank you.

Hi there,

I’ll explain this further if it corrects the issue, but if you go to:

Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings

and change the ‘Generate and send all messages:’ option to be ‘On the same request’ and save.

Then test this again, does it work as expected then?

I had already tried that, tried again, and it made no difference. Also it is the pop up as well as the email.

I had already tried that, tried again

Oh? Apologies, I didn’t see that mentioned.

The reason I asked you to try this was the mention of issues with loopback requests previously. The message system uses WP_CRON to trigger messages to work through the queue, loopback requests are used for those so issues with those can cause delays/non-functional messages.

Can you link me to the event you are testing this on so I can take a look?

UPDATE Currenty emails are working great, but the pop up for the wait list only shows up if you go back into the events page; going into any other page you do not see it, only if you join wait list and then go back to that page. All you see when joining the wait list is the home page. And that is consistent every time.

I need to get this working. I started a new site with 2022 theme and installed only espresso events and wait list. I set up an event and enrolled enough to make it full. When I join the wait list it still does not show a pop up confirmation. How can I get this feature to work? I did get a confirmation email. (in this case I cannot force it to show up by going back to events page like occurs on my other install on Divi Theme)

It works on a bare bones build with 2021 but not 2022 themes so this does seem to be a theme issue. I am using Divi Child theme on the site where we are using EE. What would be next steps to trouble shoot this?

On 2021 theme I consistently get pop up msg for waitlist.
On 2022 theme I never get the pop up msg
On my live build I get pop up only after going back into the page where I have the events shortcode listed.

Hi there!

Thanks for getting back with more information about your issue.
Firstly, I am glad you were able to fix the email deliverability problem and I am more than happy to assist you with the pop-up issue.

You did a great job discovering that is happening only with the 2022 theme and on your build site. Since it’s working fine with the 2021 theme, we recommend you to use this theme in your live environment just to prevent your real visitors from facing this issue.

On the side that, it’s important to know that we are not able to cover support to problems caused by third-party plugins/themes, but we can run a couple of tests that might help the theme’s team to have it fixed faster, I just would like to request the following to keep investigating what is going wrong:

  • Staging environment with the Event and 2022 theme causing the pop-up problem.
  • Temporary WordPress Credentials to this staging environment.

I am waiting for your comment on this!
We are happy to help.

Hi there!

Thanks for providing the information.
I was able to reproduce it on staging9.morrisplainsboro.org site, but the credentials are wrong. It seems the EventEspressoSupport does not exist – could you check this?

I am more than happy to help troubleshooting this.

Hi there!

Thanks again, but I need the Administrator permissions since I am not able to run tests as a normal user: https://jmp.sh/DiARl9k

Hi there!

Thanks for waiting for my reply.
I have checked your site and the customer is added to the Wait list, but no message is displayed. I was able to reproduce it in my local environment and already reported this to our development team.

We will get in touch with further information as soon as possible.

Thanks!
