Hello, |
I found a message to send to them, in message settings, but it says to drag to messages box and I can’t figure out what that means. |
Can you post a screenshot of what you are referring to, please? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots |

Oh, those are you message types. You can drag them over to the box above what you can see in your screenshot, like this: |
OK now that I have it, what do I select to send it? Do I change registraton to Approved and “send related messages”? Note, our registrations go right to approved since payment is outside of EE. |
If attendees are approved then they are on the official list. If you want to send them their emails and tickets, then yes, you can select those attendees and then Approve and send related messages (Registration Approved, Ticket Notice, etc.). |
I want to give them the choice of whether to register and be approved, rather than automatically approving. Is that possible? |
I’m confused. You stated you have it go to automatically approved.
Normally you should leave the event with the default registration status as Pending Payment, then people can have the option to officially join by purchasing a ticket and making a payment. That is how it’s supposed to work. If you’re not using the payments in Event Espresso, then you’ll have to do it all manually. You’ve chosen a more manual path. |
oh ok, yes, we have to use MuniciPAY for regulation purposes (due to regulation on time to deposit) so we have to do payment manually. |
So within EE ‘Approved’ is basically ‘sold’. Registrations with a status of Approved are those that apply to your sold list and EE will set a registration to approved automatically is your default registration status is set to Approved or a payment is made in full (the admin can also manually set a registration status at any time). If you want registrations to ‘hold’ a place within your ticket/datetime limits you need to set them to be Approved by default with your setup, otherwise you could have 20 registrations sitting at Pending Payment who then all pay without a short amount of time between them all… but you only have 10 spaces at the event. In terms of registration flow, what is it you are trying to achieve? |
We are trying to achieve registration for limited # spots in each class, so that works fine and we do run a wait list. We enter payments manually. If they don’t pay in a certain amount of time, we can cancel. |
Once you are getting into the wait list of attendees, can you set their registration status from Approved, to Payment Pending so they could attempt to pay to reserve their spot? |
