For the moment we don’t use online payments for our events.
If a user registers for a certain event we give them 3 days time to make the payment by bank wire transfer.
De default status of a transaction is “waiting for payment”. However, the number of people is not counted towards the capacity of the venue. Only when the payment has been received, and the status changes to approved the number of people is counted towards the capacity of the venue.
Since we have quite some events that are sold out in a couple of days this makes it quite confusing for people. Now we need to manually close down the registrations.
Can we change a setting to that also the “waiting for payment” status is counted? Obviously we could set that the default status of a new registration is “approved”, but this way we don’t have a clear view on the pending payments.

No, the Pending Payment and Approved status (and how they are) are basically a core functions within Event Espresso. Changing how that status works would be a considerable refactor, it is indeed possible, but not something we would support at this time.

That would be the best way to handle those registrations and then use the Transaction status to confirm payment rather than just the ‘Approved’ registration status.
A Transaction status of Complete means no more monies are owed for it, incomplete means monies owed. So you could filter these with a Reg status of Approved and a Transaction Status of Complete for those who have paid.
