I was looking at using the Social Coupon Codes plugin as a way to issue gift vouchers, i.e. when someone buys a gift voucher, send them a voucher with the coupon code and then they use that code to book.
The problem I have is that we have events with different prices, and if I enable Groupon codes on all events, someone could use a voucher for an event worth £85 to book and event worth £195.
At the moment we send the voucher with a reference which we note, and the recipient has to email us so we can book their place manually.
Just wondering whether there’s a way to use the coupon codes to do this. Can a coupon code be assigned to only be used on one event, and then have other coupon codes assigned solely to another event?
I think the answer is no, but thought I’d ask!
I know different promo codes can be assigned to specific events, but the problem with regards to gift vouchers is that they can be used multiple times.
Unfortunately not currently no, if Social Coupon Codes are applied to events, then any of those codes can be applied to any of those events.
It would be possible to modify to add a check against the event id it was being used on (you would need to manually set this when creating the code) but this would require a developer to implement. We have some recommended developers available on our Pro’s page:
