Helping out on mattpaulsports.com
Multi-attendee registration wasn’t working. Able to get that working with the help of EE forums and a token – in that the site is now able to let people register more than 1 person at a time.

But the volume disocunt that had in place is not working.

Problem:
The site offers 10% “family dicount” which is when really when a person registers more than 1 person. But when they go to cart and add more than one person for the event. It does not change the price.

ie. http://mattpaulsports.com/register-now-code/?ee=546

– if you go to that registration page above for that event. And scroll down where it says “To register mutliple players, Click here”

– it takes you to a shopping cart where you can add more than 1 quatity
– price does not reflect 10% discount

I looked at the following documentation for Volume Discounts
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-sell-season-tickets-with-volume-discounts/ .

1st question
Owner of site said that it was working 3months ago. But that shows that it is an “Add on”. When I go to the account pages – i do not see that on the list of “Plugins” that this account has. Does this account have this capability?

2nd Question
Looking at the docs on that add on – it talks about volume discounting based on pricing and not # of tickets(or attendees in mattpaulsports.com case). Does the add on support or have the feature for discounting when more than 1 attendee is added?

If not what is the best way to get this feature?

Notes- 1)looking thtough the sites code – i don’t see any custom code regarding this 10% discount. 2) I do see that in EE -> Promotional Codes there is a code called “family” and it is 10%. Does the promotional code feature work with this type of use case? Or is that meant to be entered at in the checkout process? 3)The owner of the site would seem to prefer that it is added on automatically – so just need clarification. Thanks.

Hi Jamie,

They probably used the “family” promo code before. Which would require setting the option to allow discount codes in the cart to yes in Event Espresso>General Settings.

Then when people register they’ll need to type the discount code into the promo code field.

The Volume Discounts add-on that we have made available in the pre-release channel has the ability to automate the checkout so they don’t have to enter a promo code. If you opt-in to the pre-release channel on your account page the download links will appear on your account page.

If you read through the Volume Discounts add-on’s documentation, it does specify that you can set it to discount based on Number of Registrations.

I activated the volume discounts and customized the settings. There seems to be a bug.

When I go to that registration page above for that event. And scroll down where it says “To register mutliple players, Click here”
– it takes you to a shopping cart – but the same event is added 4 times separate times in the cart.

Image of the cart described above.

Any feedback regarding this? Is it still in beta?

Yes, it is still in beta.

Did you select the “All categories” setting when you following the setup guide.

Just a note: The amount of times that it is in the cart. Which is 4 in this case. Corresponds to the amount of categories the event is associated to. Which is also 4.

Specifics:
Programs are categorized by sport; location; type of event; time of event;

People can look/filter at event lists by sport; location; type of event(rookie ball, advanced, etc); time (afterschool; weekend, etc)

It should all be fixed in the latest version of Volume Discounts (ver. 0.5.1) that was just released to the pre-release channel.

Okay – thanks got it working with that version. Crossing fingers:)
Just heads up on the docs page
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-sell-season-tickets-with-volume-discounts/ .
It links you to old version. I originally had the .40 version.

Hi Matt, thanks for the notice about the documentation. I will get that resolved.
