Hi,
We recently switched back to EE3 because of the discount module.
Installed fresh and activated. Volume discount is added in and set up.

It is not working.
Sometimes only shows -EUR- as discount and the results are confusing.
Is there anything I can do?
Thank you,

Sandor Gera

Hi there,

Which version of EE3 do you currently have installed?

Can you outline exactly how the volume discount is set up? Along with that, what are the ticket prices set for the event?

Hi,
OK.
So the site is about courses. 10 week course or 5 week course.
The prices are €110 and €55.

There are two €110 course in the list for testing.
The Volume discount setup:
– discount based on: Total dollar value
– Discount treshold: 120
– Discount amount: 10
– Discount type: percentage discount
– Discount applied message: Multi-event discount: you saved
– Discount applies to: *** every category selected ***

I can provide login details to check the settings in private message.
Thank you,
Sandor

Hi Sandor,

Those settings look good to me. What can happen with the Volume Discounts feature is any disruption of admin-ajax.php on the front end of the website will break it. This could include a JavaScript error on the page, a security setting that blocks admin-ajax.php from being used on a front end page, or even a mismatch of https to http between the backend of the site and the front end.

So the way forward to trouble shoot this is check the browser’s web developer console for JS errors, try disabling other plugins, default WP theme, and make sure admin-ajax.php can be accessed from the front end of the site.

e.g. https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2014/05/please-stop-password-protecting-your-wp-admin-folder-because-it-breaks-public-ajax-for-wordpress/

Hi,
OK. I’ve set a complete clean installation. WP4.7
With the above plugins but only EE core, Volume discount and multi event.
No sign of errors in communication, no discount applied above threshold.

The setup is:
2 events with $110.
Registering for both for 1 person.
Volume discount applied for one category only I’ve created. (discount-events)
Both events in this category.

No discount applied.

The Communication log shows:
http://new.lumenop.ie/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=espresso_store_discount_in_session&vlm_dscnt=0.00&_=1481963662120
Runs OK.

Result:
errors:false
success:”The Volume Discount value in the session was updated successfully”
vlm_dscnt:”0.00″

Somehow it does not have the info…
Thank you,
Sandor

Can you link us to an event we can view this on?

If you monitor the request using Chrome Dev Tools is vlm_dscnt always 0.00 when you change the ticket qty so that the amount triggers the discount and then does not?

Hi,
Thank you for coming back to me.

This is the link for the page.
I monitored but cannot see any changes.

Volume discount is working fine on those events, for me? – http://take.ms/ZkOo5

Is it not the same for yourself?

Mea Culpa, it did not work for me. Now I can see it myself.
So far so good. Thank you, and I hope this feature will be available very soon for EE4.
