I have installed WPBakery Page Builder in my WP install. It works great in my page editor. I’d like to be able to use those visual layout features in the Event Editor but it seems to only allow HTML and shortcodes. In fact, I can do a layout in the page editor and copy the HTML view into the Event Editor and everything still works. Is there some way to enable those layout features from the WPBaker plugin in the Event Editor??

I resolved this question. For those who may be as ignorant as me you can turn the WPBakery layout tools on via the WPBakery>Role Manager>Administrator selection. Enable (check-box) “espresso_events” to include the WPBakery layout tools.
I feel dumb.
