My venues are not showing up on the Calendar for my events. I confirmed the venue is set up as a Venue. I confirmed that the venue is selected on the event.

Hi,

What you can do is go to Event Espresso > Calendar, then set “Enable Filters in Calendar” to Yes, then click Save.

This will add a “Select Venue” control to the calendar, so the end user can see events for a specific venue.

I don’t want them to have to select venue when they look at the Calendar. My members would never do that.

I want the venue to show up automatically when they look at the Event. If it’s the day of the event, they’ll go to the Calendar, look up the event to confirm the time and the location. So the venue needs to be there.

May I ask, where exactly does the venue need to be? I ask because normally the Venue isn’t printed on the calendar event, but maybe that’s something that could be added by means of a filter hook. For example, would it work for the venue to “show up automatically”, appended to the title of the calendar event?

How about the bottom left corner where you have the event name, date and time?

I don’t think title is a good spot. That would jam up the Calendar view.

To be clear, I’m talking about the screen that opens when someone clicks on an event on the Calendar. A window opens offering them tickets and the ability to register. Bottom left corner has event details. I’d like to see the venue there.

I did it manually on the Flagstaff Masonry Workshop on August 24th if you want an example.

There is a filter hook to allow for customizing the tooltip’s contents, so for example you could add this code to add the venue information to the tooltip:

You can add the above to a functions plugin or, if available, into your WordPress child theme’s functions.php file.

Josh, this is not making sense to me.

Each event has a Venue field.
Each Venue has an address and the request for Google Maps.

Where does the venue show up? Where does the map show up?

I don’t see it when I look at the Calendar entry.
I don’t see it when I use a link to the registration page.

What am I missing here?

I mentioned this before: Normally the Venue isn’t printed on the calendar event, nor the tooltip. It can be added to the tooltip with the above code.

With regards to the event’s page, that should normally include event information, but that appears to have been customized on your site. Was there a developer involved with that site where they may have removed the venue information from the event pages? If so you could check with them about having that restored.

Where does the venue show up? Where does the Google map show up?

No one customized the event pages. I had someone help me with custom messages. Some earlier help was received from Event Espresso. But I don’t think they did anything with event pages.

What you can do then is go to Event Espresso > Events > Templates, and under
“Single Event Pages”, you can set “Display Venue Details” to Yes. Then click Save. You can also control the venue details display within the event page by setting “Use Custom Display Order?” to Yes, then click and drag “Venue Information” so it lands before or after the other items.

With regards to Google maps: You’ll need a Google Map API key for the map to show up.
Your site does not have an API key. You can go to Event Espresso > Venues > Google Maps to add the API key from Google.

That’s what I needed!!! Now the venue is showing up.

I’ll add the API key.

Thank you!
