dear all
i would like to use a specific colors for each events subcategory in Event Espresso – Calendar (EE 4.3+).
Actually all events background color dependent of parent category custom colors setting

You can set colors for the sub category and they’ll display on the calendar. However, if you set to event so the event belongs to both the parent category and the sub category only one of the colors will be applied to the calendar.

Currently the event take the custom color of the parent category but how to make it take from the subcategory?(No custom color selected for the parent category)

Hi there,
Currently, you can’t set the order for the categories so EE applies the background colour of the first category it pulls from the events.

I can give you the location, however, note that we don’t support customizations to the core code. You would be better off adding a hook into the calendar that allows you to modify what you need and then opening up a pull request for us to include it within the core plugin.
The file you need to look at is EED_Espresso_Calendar.module.php and its within the get_calendar_events() method.
