Hi, I’ve installed the Vanco payment gateway and set up the required information with customer ID, user name, Password, and encryption key. I first attempted to test in debug mode and received errors after clicking proceed to finalize payment. The error indicated I should refresh the screen and try again. A second and third attempt failed trying both credit/debit and checking account transactions. Next I tried to do a live transaction but I received the same error. I am running the latest version of WP and EE4. Any suggestions? |
Hi Randy, debugging mode has different amounts that you can use to trigger certain responses: http://cl.ly/image/2l3I2Z39071R When you were testing, was one of those amounts being used? — |

Lorenzo, There was no field in which to enter a test amount. Maybe the test amount was to be entered as the cost of the event but in any case, the dollar amount of my test event was $40 and the error states: “Payment error! Please refresh the page and try again or contact support” This failure occurred both in debug mode and in live mode. |
Hi Randy, could you try the following: 1) Please double-check to ensure that there is no extra spacing before or after your credentials in the payment methods screen 2) Set debugging to off on the same screen and save changes From here try a new registration and let us know if the issue continues with the same error message. We’ve also rolled out a maintenance release earlier today for Event Espresso 4 core so if you have not already updated, then please go ahead and do so as my earlier testing was on the latest software. — |

Lorenzo, I updated to 4.7.7 and verified the entries for the credentials but it still failed. Could it be that there is no field asking for the credit card verification number? I tried using both American Express and a Visa Debit card but I realized there is no CV code box to enter. Generally that number is required for verification purposes. Also this brings up a second question of web security as the site doesn’t switch over to a HTTPS site. So is that something that I need to configure within WordPress or should the Vanco add-on bring up the security features? |
Hi Randy, could we take a look at the payment logs? If so, could you follow up here: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ — |
