Value of sold tickets not corresponding with value of registrations

Hi there

I just updated to EE4 .34 – so everything’s up to date.

I got an issue with few of my events where the value of sold tickets doesn’t correspondend with the value of registrations.

For example:
Example

You see that there are 85 tickets to be sold – however it shows 89 being sold although only 84 tickets are confirmed. And even if I’d add the 4 tickets that have been cancelled I’d only end up with 88 tickets and not 89.

This issue is causing a lot of trouble and we had to shutdown our site until we know what’s causing it. A lot of our over 650 events will start next week and we need to be sure that our records are correct…

Thanks for any help!

P.S.: You already have the credentials to login (Dashboard/FTP)

The issue is caused by you have registrations for that event that were moved to the trash, and their registration status for some of those trashed registrations is approved. This could have been avoided if the site had the current version of EE4 when those registrations were moved to the trash.

I’ll go ahead and change the status of those registrations to cancelled. If you run into any other events that have incorrect sold ticket totals, you can check the Trashed (Papierkorb) registrations for the event and make sure those are set to have a Cancelled registration status.

Update: I looked into this further and found that ehe underlying cause to this issue is the wisdmlabs plugin that adds the ability to cancel registrations. When someone cancels the registration from the front end of the site, the Ticket Sold counts do not reduce.

I’ve deactivated the Wisdmlab’s Event Espresso extension plugin on your website. I can advise that you contact Wisdmlabs and ask them to fix their plugin so it correctly reduces the ticket sold and date time tickets sold counts when the registrations are cancelled.

Hi Josh

Thank you very much for looking into this! I’ll contact WisdmLabs and hope they can fix it.

Thanks again and
Have a great weekend!

Cheers
Philip

You too. I’m also going through and manually fixing these ticket sold counts in the esp_datetime and esp_ticket tables. Any of the events that had cancellations made using the Wisdmlabs plugins have incorrect sold totals now.

Hi again

Great – thank you! Can you give me a short notice when you’ve finished? This would help me understand the issue better on my side.

Thanks again Josh :)!

I’m not finished, but please do not reactivate the “Event espresso extension” plugin from Wisdmlabs. It’s not allowing the event editor page to load up and until it gets fixed it’s going to create more problems for you.

Hi Josh

I’ll let you finish then – I deactivated the Wisdmlabs-plugin… but still the editor doesn’t load for me as well…

I’ll await your message…

Thanks again!

The editor not loading might actually be the result of some security settings on your website.

I’d be glad if you could resolve the issue – I saw you just deactivated WordFence… so I’m waiting on you and will not interfere with anything.

Let me know wether I should buy another priority support token for this.

Thanks!

I’m not sure I can resolve the issue without some information. Do you know what’s set up on your website that would case the

message to appear? The reason I ask is because that’s not a message that comes from Event Espresso.

If you don’t know, you should probably contact your host. This may be something that’s happening at the server level, and support staff from Event Espresso do not touch server level settings.

This message replaces the default-wp-update message… I’m not seeing it right now… and there doesn’t seem to be an update running right now.

I’m going to take a break from fixing the incorrect ticket sold counts. If you happen to find any more events that need their ticket sold counts corrected, you can post the event IDs here.

As an aside, it’s the Fusion Builder Custom Post Types and Taxonomies plugin that’s causing the WordPress page editor to break. It appears to have a bug or is missing a file. If you deactivate the Fusion Builder Custom Post Types and Taxonomies plugin you’ll be able to edit WordPress pages and Event pages again.
