I upgraded to 5.0.3, but then my event managers were not able to access EE. I have a couple of different user types with different privileges depending what they can do – EE events administrator, and another type that can view but not edit. I reviewed my user role settings but could not get it to work and had to revert back to 4.10.46.

Please advise, thanks!

Hi there,

This is strange, I have multiple test sites using the EE Events Admin role and they can view/edit events and registrations without issue.

What happens with the roles on your site? Is there an error shown?

Unfortunately I was in a hurry to revert back to the previous plugin version when I could not find a fix, so I did not record the exact error wording. But yes, when an EE Admin clicked on “Events” there was a message saying access was not allowed.

Do you have a role and/or capabilities plugin that is managing access for your team?

Yes, I use User Role Editor plugin. I also use S2 Member for access to some members only pages.

I’m not aware of any permission changes from V4 to V5, so this will require some testing on your site specifically. Do you have a staging site where you can test your set up?
