Hello, I would like to add an option to my event page for a recurring payment plan, in addition to the regular ticket selector. For example, if a Workshop is $600, I could offer a payment plan of three monthly payments of $200 each. I have seen the Restrict Content Pro plugin mentioned in the forums here as a suggestion, but I don’t know if and how it would function with the event registration. It would be great if a person could just select this as an option and pay, without extra steps of us having to be in touch with them and sign them up. I don’t think this could be added to the ticket selector, but perhaps as another option on the event page? Or perhaps there’s a better option for a payment plan/recurring payment?

Thank you so much!

Rob

Hi Rob,

It would be great if a person could just select this as an option and pay, without extra steps of us having to be in touch with them and sign them up.

Currently, Event Espresso doesn’t not support recurring payments/payment plans etc. You’d need an EE payment method created that supports recurring payments and some additional custom development to handle the recurring payments themselves so that they update within EE.

May I ask which thread you saw using Restrict Content Pro? I’m not aware of a workaround using that for recurring payments.

I don’t think this could be added to the ticket selector, but perhaps as another option on the event page?

If this is added outside of Event Espresso itself then the payments etc would also be managed outside of Event Espresso so I’m not sure how it would work.

The only option we have for this right now is to use a ‘deposit’ ticket which the user registers and pays the full ticket price (which would be set as the ‘first’ payment amount) and then once paid the admin ‘moves’ the registration onto the ‘next’ payment ticket so the user can pay the next installment. It’s not a payment plan as the admin need to move the ticket and the user then needs to pay the balance again but I can provide more details if that sounds like it will work for you?

Hi Tony, thanks for the respone! I get what you’re saying and that all makes sense. Helpful for me to know the options. We’re looking into doing this a different way right now, so I’ll let you know if I need to come back to the problem solving.

For you info, this is the thread where Josh talked about Restrict Content Pro-

Thanks, all the best!

Hi Rob,

Apologies, I guess I misunderstood what you meant by using Restrict Content Pro.

I thought you wanted to use it to create some form of recurring payment but the thread you’ve linked to allows it to hide the content based on the settings selected within the event.
