I created one event with multiple dates. I can see the events on the calendar, but it looks like there is another random even displayed on the screen at the beginning of the calendar. There should only be one event every friday during the month of june. You can see it here: |
Hi, Is this just using the basic calendar shortcode? Have you modified any Event Espresso templates or calendar files? |
This is just the basic ee4 install and the short code to display the calendar I haven’t made any changes other than add the event for multiple days. |
Hi Denise, Can you switch to one of the default themes such as twenty fourteen and see if the issue remains please? You do this without actually switching the theme for your visitors using the plugin Theme Test Drive. |
Hi, I changed it to 2015 and also to the 2014 theme and for both of those themes it is still broken. |
I also deactivated all the plugins except for events expresso and its is still showing the events in random places on the calendar. I also saw the update to 4.6.30 and update EE and I installed that as well. You can see it with 2014 enabled and all my plugins disabled here: http://miytest15.miyceramics.com/day-time-calendar/ Than |
Ok I can see the problem. The first datetime for that event has the ‘Event Start’ set to 2015-05-29 and the ‘Event End’ as 2015-07-17. If you change the Event End to 2015-05-29 the calendar will display correctly. That’s being passed to the calendar as a single datetime that starts 2015-05-29 and ends 2015-07-17. Is that date range for that datetime expected? If so how are you expecting it to be displayed on the calendar? A single datetime spanning every date between start and end or individual events displayed for each day between those dates? (this isn’t supported with the above setup, I just want to be clear how you want this to work) |
Yep you are correct. Sorry about that. I missed that one. I was trying to setup the event like a recurring event since that functionality isn’t available on EE4 yet. Thanks for your support. |
No problem, I’m just glad its fixed 🙂 Just let us know if you have any further problems. |

Hi Tony, I see what is happening now. When I duplicate an event in the EVENTS TiCKETS and DAYTIME it seems to change the end date of the very first entry and adds one week to it. It is consistently doing to to me on all my events. Regards |
Hmm that’s odd and is not happening on my install. If you create a new event (not a duplicate) set that event up to match how you normally set up your events, then duplicate that event, does the same happen? |
For me the symptoms only occur if I create the event and then try to duplicate it while I am creating it before I have saved the draft or published it. If I save it and then edit the event again and go to duplicate it, then it works as expected. |
Are you using a post duplicator plugin? The event should not allow you to duplicate it before it has been saved or published. |
I think its built into the EE4? I posted a picture here of the icon I am using. Its the little icon that says duplicate in the events creation under EVENT Tickets and Datetime? miyceramics.com/images/duplicate.png |
Ahhh sorry, I miss understood. I thought you duplicated the EVENT and then it displayed the wrong date in the datetime. Your duplicating the datetime. Investigating now. |
Hi Denise, could you let us know if this is how the datetimes are being duplicated for a new event? http://cl.ly/0v3t3k2x2602/Screen%20Recording%202015-06-01%20at%2005.26%20PM.mov If the steps are different, then please clarify so we can re-test. Thanks! — |

Yes that is how I duplicated the events. But in order to see the problem you need to change the date of the next entry. I’m using this much like you would use recurring events. For example a class that happens every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. During the month. When I add the second date one week away the end date of the first event changes |
Thanks Denise, I was able to duplicate the issue that you reported and I’m working on a ticket for our development team. — |
Hi, I had another question on the duplication that is occurring. Could you try this one more time and ensure that the end date is after the start date for each date time? For example, the last datetime here would be changed automatically upon saving: http://cl.ly/image/1v471F3x213C — |

Yes it still does it. I changed my start and end date to june 6 from 11am-1pm. I clicked on the duplicate icon and changed both the dates to june 13, I left the time alone. And it immediately changed my first entry end from june 6 to june 13. Please see the image located here: |
Hi, could you share a before and after image (e.g. prior to saving and right after saving)? — |
Okay, here are the symptoms. Rember this only happens when I create NEW event before I have saved it. If I save the event it starts to behave just fine: 1. Create a new event add title set my venue put some text for description change the date: Hope that helps. |
Thanks again Denise, that was helpful in duplicating the issue. — |
Hi Denise, A little update on this: Event Espresso 4.6.30.p was released today and it includes a fix for the issue you reported here. Thanks for reporting. |
