Using EE just as a public event calendar

Hello,
I am interested in creating a public event calendar in which people can add an event with or w/o a poster but not sell tickets or any other transactions. It’s really about finding a better method of promoting and finding local events vs. the over-stuff bulletin boards in cafes. If EE is not the right solution for this case, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi there Mark, Event Espresso won’t work well for your project as the events calendar add-on displays events that have been created in Event Espresso.
