We sell educational courses. We’ve had an issue with users registering their colleagues, and overwriting their accounts. For example:
John D – a Manager at his company – registered for Class A and paid. A few days later, he logged in thinking he could register for others in his company. He registered Jane D – his employee – for the same class. His profile now reflected Jane D’s information. All his past registrations displayed her name.
To correct this, we needed to update John’s user account ( which had his email, but Jane’s name ) with his correct name. This corrected the previous course registrations that Jane D was not a participate in.
But now we had two registrations on Class A for John D – paid for with two different payment transactions. No Jane D registration existed.
Company managers register for a course, then promote it to their staff, and the staff want the managers to register them for the course.
How can we avoid this overwriting thing? A manager would not want to create an account for their staff member.
You go to Event Espresso > Registration Form > User Integration Settings and set Always sync contact information with WP user profile? to No.
