Hi all, I’ve played around with the roles for a while but can’t figure out how to add a user that can add and edit their own events only! Please help! Thanks!! ๐ |
Hi Zoe, This is possible with Roles and Permissions Pro. It will allow you to add Regions. So, you could add a “region” for each person and they will only have access to their events because they will be the only person in the “region”. |

Ah, I honestly thought permissions pro came with the business licence! Any chance of getting a promo code so I can purchase this for my client? Pretty please… ๐ |

Hi Zoe, |
|
Thanks Sidney – I’ve sent an email ๐ |
|
oh – its bounced back! |
Hi Zoe, sales@eventespresso.com bounced back? We’ll look into this. If you use the form available at https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Select โSales / Billing Questionโ under department that should receive it and be in touch. |

Thanks I’ve done that – if you want to email me directly I can send you the bounce back info! |
Hi Zoe, I replied via email. If you have further questions, please let us know. ๐ |

Awesome, so I’ve got Permissions Pro – I’ve set up two test Locals to test with (obivously ๐ ) – no idea what I do next… is there any documentation for this add on? As above, I want users to only be able to edit their own events and add new ones… Thankssssss |
Hi Zoe, Here is the documentation on R&P Pro: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/roles-and-permissions-pro/ As I stated previously, you can add regions for each person, then assign the person to their region. |

Fab, thanks Jonathan! I’ve set it all up but with a user TestClient, they are assigned to the correct local but I can’t seem to add any venue details to an event. I can add a venue in the venue section but when I add or edit an event it says: Venue Information |
|
There’s actually a bug that has been fixed in the next version of EE (3.1.36), but that you may be seeing in the current version (3.1.35). Open up plugins/event-espresso/includes/admin-files/functions.php and go down to line 54: $group = unserialize($group); and delete or comment out that line. Now scroll up to line 27 of the same file: $group = unserialize($group); and delete or comment out that line as well. |
|
Thanks for that, I can now see venues when logged in as my Test Client – however I can see and add events for all venues, even ones that arent assigned to the user – should that be the case? |
|
I did some testing and from what I can tell, you need to have at least one region assigned to a regional manager in order to keep them from seeing the regions that are not assigned to them. I’ll see if I can work up a fix for this. |
|
Ah I see, that’s cool I can work around that! |
|
I checked into it, and that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Until you lock a regional manager into a region, they can access all regions. We’ll get that added to the documentation. |
