User Experiencing Signup Issues in Google Chrome for PC

Hi,

Our website has a user who is experiencing issues registering for events using the Chrome browser. He is logged into his WordPress account and when adding an event to his basket, he receives the following message:

“Your ticket selections have been received for consideration.”

However, when he switched to Internet Explorer, the issue was resolved, and registration worked without any problems.

Additional Details:

The user is on a PC.
We tested registration on Mac using Chrome, and did not encounter any issues.

Steps Taken So Far:

Cleared cache in Chrome browser (did not resolve the issue).
Tried a different browser (Internet Explorer), which worked without problems.

Our site uses the following Event Espresso plugins:

Event Espresso – Calendar (EE 4.3+) 3.2.16.p
Event Espresso – Events Table View Template (EE 4.4.9+) 1.3.9.p
Event Espresso – Grid View Template (EE 4.4.9+) 1.2.4.p
Event Espresso – People Addon (EE 4.5+) 1.0.9.p
Event Espresso – Promotions (EE 4.9.10+) 1.0.16.p
Event Espresso – Social Sharing (EE4.4.4+) 1.0.p
Event Espresso – WP Users (EE4.6+) 2.0.19.p

Hi there,

This message:

Your ticket selections have been received for consideration.

Is from one of the bot traps built into Event Espresso.

When the user is using Chrome they are using Auto-fill to add their details on the registration form, auto-fill (doing what it does best) is finding hidden fields within the page and adding details to those fields which is then submitted.

Bots that crawl the site looking for random forms to submit, would do exactly that so it triggers the EE bot trap.
