Is there a way yet to allow a user to enter a “ticket” price? In other words, we want to have a ticket option where if a user is not able to attend our event, but would like to make a donation, they can select the “Donation” ticket and enter their desired amount. Technically we could create many different tickets for different amounts but that is clunky and we would never be able to come up with every donation amount a user may want to send.
Currently, we don’t have a way for users to enter a donation amount on the fly as request. We’ve seen users create multiple different ticket options as you mentioned and also seen users use a 3rd party add-on called the price modifier add-on to add questions to the registration form for selecting a donation.
Either of those options are currently the only options available within EE4 currently.
As your user isn’t attending the event itself you could use a plugin specifically for donations and add the shortcode for that within the event content.
