I have created a Custom Approved Registration Message (for each venue). I linked these custom venue-specific messages to the Events. It works fine when someone registers online and payment is approved.
This does not work when I
1) manually add a registrant to an event. In this case, a default Registration Details message is sent to the customer (not my linked Approved Registration Custom Template)
2) Also when I change the Status of a registrant from Pending to Approved and resend the registration message, it also sends a default Registration Details message.

What am I doing wrong? I need the CUSTOM MESSAGES to be sent out in both these cases.

I came from using EE3, and EE3 picks up the custom email when I either manually re-send confirmation emails and when I create a new registrant. Not sure why this is happening

I would like by customer Template to vbew sent

Hi there,

I’ve just run through those scenarios and it triggered my custom messages so I’ll need to dig into this a little to try and reproduce.

Which version number of Event Espresso 4 are you using? (4.10.13.p is currently the latest)

1) manually add a registrant to an event. In this case, a default Registration Details message is sent to the customer (not my linked Approved Registration Custom Template)

So going to Event Espresso -> Events -> {hover over event} -> Registrations.

Clicking Add new registration and completing the registration through that with the ‘Send related messages’ option checked?

Paid or Free ticket?

2) Also when I change the Status of a registrant from Pending to Approved and resend the registration message, it also sends a default Registration Details message.

So the registration was added on the front end and you edited the registration itself and set the status? Triggering message when doing so or not?

Then ‘resending’ the email how?

I had to replicate the CUSTOM TEMPLATE for the Registrant context. I only had it set for the Admin Event level. It now works. I did not realize there were different levels of Messages customization in EE4.

Ah, ok.

Yeah each message type can have multiple ‘contexts’ in which its used.

For example, a registration approved message that you send to the Event Admin will very likely have different content than what you send to the registrant, so we group them together and allow you to edit them individually.

Take a look here for some more info on contexts:
